Our House is a venue for the local LGBTQIA+ community of Wakefield and West Yorkshire.
We are hosting some friendly induction evenings at Our House.
If you’re new to volunteering or want to get involved with Our House, these sessions are the perfect induction evenings to dip your toes in.
You'll have the chance to meet some new people, learn about the different ways you can get involved with us, see the new space, meet the team, and ask any questions that you have.

Accessibility:
- This event is held at Our House, 172 Kirkgate, WF1 1UD
- Children are welcome but we ask anyone under the age of 16 be accompanied by someone over 18
- We have highchairs and activities in our kids corner for children, and board games visitors can use free of charge.
- The centre has street-level access and is wheelchair accessible.
- The toilet facilities are gender-neutral and are wheelchair accessible.
- The cafe serves both dairy and milk alternatives, and we offer a range of vegan and non-vegan snacks.
- This is an alcohol-free and drug-free space; anyone who brings drugs or alcohol into the centre will be asked to leave.
- The cafe runs a ‘pay it forward’ scheme; if you can't afford a drink, please ask a team member, and they will happily tell you about it.
- All the proceeds from our shop and cafe go to the centre's upkeep.
